The Bears elevated Ahmed from their practice squad to the active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Buccaneers.
Ahmed is set to be elevated for the first time since signing with Chicago's practice squad in September. With Zavier Scott (wrist) being placed on injured reserve Thursday and Kyle Monangai dealing with thumb and toe injuries, Ahmed could be called upon to provide additional depth behind D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson against Tampa Bay.
