Sanders did not play in the Bills' Week 2 win over the Lions due to a knee injury and an illness. The defensive tackle's absence during the first practice of Week 3 came for a different reason, as Sanders' appendix was surgically removed Tuesday. It remains unclear how long it will take the 23-year-old to return to football shape.
