The Texans released Jordan (knee) on Sunday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Jordan suffered a knee injury in early August that prevented the tight end from participating in any preseason games or activities. The tight end's injury is likely one of the main reasons he was unable to make the Texans' initial 53-man roster. Jordan is now a free agent and will be able to sign with any team's 53-man roster or practice squad as soon as he regains his health.
