Browns' Baker Mayfield: Sharp in Week 2 win
Mayfield completed 19 of 21 passes for 213 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Browns' 31-21 win over the Texans on Sunday. He also rushed eight times for 10 yards and another score and committed a fumble that was recovered by the offense.
Mayfield fought through plenty of adversity that his ultra-efficient stat line doesn't hint at, as he lost Jarvis Landry early in the first quarter with an MCL sprain and also fought through a left shoulder injury that head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed in his postgame press conference, per Jake Trotter of ESPN.com. Already without Odell Beckham (knee) entering the contest, Mayfield was forced to make due with a makeshift pass-catching corps that included the likes of Rashard Higgins, Harrison Bryant, Austin Hooper and rookie Demetric Felton among its most prominent pieces for the afternoon. Mayfield will hope to have at least Beckham in the fold for the first time this season in a Week 3 home interconference battle against the Bears.
