Browns' Baker Mayfield: Tests positive for COVID-19
Mayfield tested positive for the coronavirus Wednesday and will be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Along with Mayfield, head coach Kevin Stefanski also tested positive for the virus Wednesday, one day after the Browns placed eight players on the list. Unless he can clear the NFL's COVID-19 protocols by returning two consecutive negative tests prior to Saturday's game against the Raiders, Mayfield will be unable to suit up Week 15. Cleveland at least have a capable veteran backup on hand in Case Keenum, but with wide receiver Jarvis Landry, offensive tackle Jedrick Wills and guard Wyatt Teller already on the list, and Kareem Hunt (ankle) likely slated to miss at least one game, this could be an offense depleted of much of its top personnel versus Las Vegas.
