Hayes (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's contest against the Lions, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Hayes was unable to practice both Wednesday and Thursday after sustaining an ankle injury during the Buccaneers' Week 1 win, so it's no surprise that he won't be suiting up Sunday. Expect Christian Izien and Tyrek Funderburk to see more work in Tampa Bay's secondary as Hayes continues to recover.
