Murray completed 16 of 22 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 42-14 loss to the Commanders. He added one rushing attempt for three yards.

After capping the opening drive with a two-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Harrison, Murray was surprisingly quiet the rest of the way as both a passer and a runner against a beatable Washington defense as the Cardinals felt the absence of starting tight end Trey McBride (concussion). Prior to Sunday's dud as a runner, Murray had at least 45 rushing yards in every game this season and had rushed for at least 20 yards in eight consecutive starts. Murray's averaging just 194.3 passing yards per game heading into a Week 5 road game against the 49ers.
