James (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
James was not cleared to practice all week due to a hamstring injury, which will cause him to miss a second-straight week. The Chargers are on a bye for Week 7, so the veteran safety will have additional time to rest ahead of Week 8 against the Rams on Sunday, Nov. 1. Elijah Molden, Tony Jefferson and Genesis Smith are all in line for more defensive snaps in the secondary in James' absence.
