Gould worked with the first-team offense as a receiver but was not targeted with a pass in Sunday's preseason loss to Denver, the Indianapolis Star reports. He had five kickoff returns for a 27.6 yard average and one punt return for nine yards.
The 2024 fifth-round draft pick was seen mostly as a candidate for special teams as a star punt and kickoff returner, but has been working with the first-team offense in training camp at times as a receiver. He could take over the punt return job if Josh Downs misses regular season games due to a high ankle sprain.
