Payne (foot) underwent season-ending surgery Wednesday, Ben Standig of The Team 980 Washington D.C. reports.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that Payne will be out long-term with a foot injury suffered in practice. With both Javon Kinlaw (knee) and Payne out, Tim Settle will have a larger role at nose tackle going forward.
