Smith continues to work back from a procedure to fix a thumb injury he suffered near the start of the regular season. The left guard could return in Week 5, but the short lead-up to Thursday's game could set the 25-year-old back another week. Once Smith returns, T.J. Bass should revert to his role as a depth piece for the Cowboys' offensive line.
