The Dolphins placed Sanders (hip) on injured reserve Tuesday, ruling him out for at least the first four games of the regular season.
Sanders will be eligible to return in Week 5 against Carolina, but it's not clear yet if he'll be fully recovered from a hip injury by then. The Dolphins will need to add another kicker to the active roster in advance of a Week 1 clash with the Colts.
