Training camp is underway, and we're full go with our annual effort to raise money for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Last year, we raised more than $100,000 and hope to do even better in 2024.
You can donate to St. Jude here, and you'll see various Fantasy Football activities we're doing as part of our Draft-A-Thon. That includes taking part in mock drafts with our CBS Sports staff, which will happen through the end of August.
In this Superflex mock draft, one thing that stood out was the managers who invested heavily in quarterbacks early, compared to the managers who waited on the position. Only four quarterbacks were drafted in Round 1 (Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson), and no one started QB-QB. Only two managers had two quarterbacks after Round 3.
Erik Parks, who had the No. 8 overall pick, drafted Hurts in Round 1, but he waited until Round 5 to select his second quarterback in Aaron Rodgers. He did not draft a third quarterback.
I was curious about his strategy, and here's what Erik said about his plan for this mock draft.
"Picking eighth, I was very happy with my selection of Jalen Hurts," Erik said. "He is definitely a QB1 and, truthfully, this is my first super flex draft. I quickly realized having two quarterbacks is essential to building a team. I thought it was interesting how some chose quarterback over running backs and wide receivers as building blocks. I was watching Jamey, who seemed to follow a similar path."
Make sure you check out Erik's team, as well as everyone else in this mock draft. And thank you to everyone who donated -- and will continue to donate -- to St. Jude.

We also award one point for every reception. We feature a starting lineup of QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, FLEX (RB/WR/TE) and Superflex (QB/RB/WR/TE) with six reserves for a 15-round draft.
