Jets quarterback Geno Smith made his NFL debut on Sunday during a home start Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although it was a hard-fought contest, Smith is now 1-0 as a starting QB in the NFL after the 18-17 comeback win.

Smith brought the Jets to within 14-12 in the second quarter with his first NFL touchdown pass to Kellen Winslow. It was a 7-yard TD. The rookie finished the game 24 for 38 for 256 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Smith also led the Jets in rushing with 47 yards on six carries.

Smith, who did lose a fumble early in the game, orchestrated a drive in the final seconds to ended in a field goal to win the game for the Jets in his first start in the NFL. He'll make his second NFL start Week 2 at New England in a tough matchup.
