The Giants placed Ihenacho (knee) on injured reserve Friday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.
Ihenacho's spot on the roster wasn't a guarantee, but a knee injury suffered during the team's third preseason was serious enough to end his season. Considering he's on a one-year deal, there's no guarantee the veteran will be with the club come 2018.
