Johnson (shoulder) was placed on IR on Monday, Ralph Vacchiano of Sportsnet New York reports.
Johnson suffered a stinger early on in the preseason and hadn't returned since. He had an MRI done on his shoulder, which he claims came back clean, but the doctors didn't know when he would get strength back in his arm, so the Giants decided to shut him down for the year.
