The Cardinals released Smith on Monday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Smith was released in favor of Ifeadi Odenigbo, who was claimed off waivers from the Browns. He appeared in all three games for the Cardinals, totaling 52 snaps between defense and special teams. The 28-year-old has 13.5 sacks in his career.
