Hyde ran for 24 yards and one touchdown on nine carries and caught his lone target for minus-1 yard Sunday in the Jaguars' 37-7 loss to the Rams.
Hyde took over the Jaguars backfield for a time following a first-quarter fumble by starter James Robinson, though Hyde was less effective from scrimmage (23 yards on 10 touches) than Robinson (35 yards on nine touches). Hyde also lost his own fumble, so the Jaguars gained nothing by making the switch. Robinson is a better player than Hyde, so Hyde should normally get the scraps between the two, but Sunday's bleak showing from Jacksonville is a reminder of the team's futility.
