Jones was released by the Chargers on Monday, Annie Heilbrunn of the San Diego Union Tribune reports.
The veteran receiver projected as the sixth wideout on the Chargers' depth chart, so he was in competition for a spot on the final roster. Jones is entering his 10th season in the league after spending all but one prior with the Packers. Isaiah Burse, DeAndre Reaves, and Dom Williams now figure to be competing for a spot on the final roster.
