The 49ers released Hyder on Friday, per the team's official site.
San Francisco acquired Randy Gregory from the Broncos in a trade Friday and therefore needed to open up a spot on the roster. Hyder was consequently let go after logging one tackle (a sack) over the team's first four games. The veteran has recorded 22 sacks in his NFL career and may now seek an opportunity elsewhere.
