Nichols reverted to Pittsburgh's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction report.
Nichols was elevated to provide additional depth at running back with Rico Dowdle (toe) out and ended up logging one carry for no gain across three offensive snaps, in addition to playing seven snaps on special teams. If Dowdle remains sidelined for next week's matchup versus the Browns, Nichols could be elevated once again.
