Montgomery rushed 11 times for 35 yards and a touchdown while catching all four of his targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Buccaneers.

Montgomery scored his second one-yard touchdown in as many games in the third quarter, but he was otherwise outplayed by Jahmyr Gibbs, who turned 20 touches into 106 scrimmage yards. While Gibbs gets occasional goal-line opportunities, Montgomery gets most of his value from his short-yardage proficiency, as the former Bears running back has 15 rushing touchdowns in 16 regular-season games since joining the Lions. Montgomery will try to extend his season-opening touchdown streak in Week 3 against Arizona.
