• Texans' David Montgomery: Still sidelined at practice

  6H ago • By RotoWire

Montgomery (groin) isn't practicing Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Still seemingly being viewed as week-to-week after he failed to practice in any fashion last week before sitting out the Texans' win over the Jaguars in London, Montgomery appears to be trending toward another absence this weekend against the Giants. If Montgomery ends up missing another contest, Woody Marks would be in line for another turn as Houston's lead back, with Dare Ogunbowale and practice-squad member Deuce Vaughn operating as depth options.

• Texans' David Montgomery: Ruled out for London game

The Texans ruled Montgomery (groin) out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London. After making an early exit from the Texans' Week 5 win over the Titans due to the groin injury, Montgomery was unable to practice in any capacity Wednesday or Thursday. He'll stay behind in Houston while the Texans make the trip overseas and will set his sights on a return to action Week 7 against the Giants. With Montgomery set to miss his first game of the season, Woody Marks should be in store for a sizable workload once again after handling 19 touches and playing 56 of 66 offensive snaps in Week 5.

Montgomery (groin) didn't practice Thursday. Since being labeled week-to-week by head coach DeMeco Ryans on Monday, Montgomery has sat out the Texans' ensuing two practices. Unless he's able to take part in Friday's practice in some fashion, Montgomery will likely be officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London. Woody Marks looks poised to handle a workhorse role out of the backfield Week 6 with Montgomery expected to be inactive for the first time this season.

• Texans' David Montgomery: Sitting out Wednesday's practice

Montgomery (groin) isn't practicing Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Montgomery made an early exit from the Texans' Week 5 win at Tennessee due to a groin injury, which head coach DeMeco Ryans since has called a "week-to-week" concern for the running back, per Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle. As a result, Montgomery's lack of activity Wednesday isn't a surprise, and Houston ultimately could make a ruling on his availability for Sunday's game in Jacksonville when it posts its final practice report of the week Friday. Woody Marks is lined up to lead the backfield for as long as Montgomery is sidelined.

• Texans' David Montgomery: Considered week-to-week

  9D ago • By RotoWire

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday that Montgomery (groin) is considered week-to-week, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. Montgomery exited Sunday's 26-3 win over the Titans midway through the second quarter due to the groin injury and was unable to return. Based on Ryans' comments a day later, Montgomery looks to be trending toward missing his first game of the season Week 6, when the Texans travel to London to face the Jaguars on Sunday. Montgomery's expected absence in Week 6 should clear the way for Woody Marks to take on a lead role out of the Houston backfield, with Dare Ogunbowale and practice-squad members Jawhar Jordan and Deuce Vaughn representing candidates to handle depth roles. Since scoring three touchdowns on 23 touches in a Week 1 loss to the Bills, Montgomery has failed to find the end zone while being limited to 78 yards on 32 carries (2.4 average) and four catches for 48 yards over the Texans' subsequent four contests.
