The Patriots have signed Washington.
Washington figures to transition well to the Patriots' offense, having played this past season with the Texans, who are coached by former New England offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. The 6-foot-1, 183-pound wideout, who turns 33 in August, can still present a downfield option at this stage of his career, and with the Patriots looking for an added outside presence at the position, Washington could be a solid complement to the likes of Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and fellow newcomer Chris Hogan. Washington is coming off a 2015 campaign in which he recorded 47 catches for 658 yards and four TDs with the Texans over 14 games.
