Richard's placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday was the result of a positive test of the virus a day earlier, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.
Richard was ruled out just hours ahead of last Sunday's eventual 17-15 loss to Washington when the Raiders became aware of his positive test. Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported in early September that the Raiders had a 100 percent vaccination rate, so if that's the case, Richard could have a chance at being available this weekend in Kansas City if he's asymptomatic for at least 48 hours and tests negative for the virus twice at least 24 hours apart. With Kenyan Drake (ankle) suffering a season-ending injury in the Week 13 loss, Richard profiles as the top change-of-pace option behind Josh Jacobs when healthy.
