Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr needed a garbage-time touchdown to avoid putting just six points on the board Sunday in Cleveland, but his numbers were impressive when the final tick went off the clock.
Carr finished 34 of 54 for a career-high 328 yards and no interceptions. He began the game by rolling right and hitting Andre Holmes for 16 yards and also found Holmes and Kenbrell Thompkins late in the second quarter for a combined 46 yards to set up a field goal. But he struggled most of the fourth quarter until hitting Holmes on a 10-yard screen for the score.
He will attempt to lead his team to its first victory of the season in Seattle on Sunday.
