Don't scoff - Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is a worthy Fantasy play this week. Yeah, two of his starting offensive linemen are gone. But he has only been sacked five times in the last two games combined, which is a vast improvement from most of the season. He has done a nice job getting rid of the ball and he did complete 67 percent of his passes the last two weeks.
Tannehill is having a productive season and has been able to get a wide variety of targets involved in the offense. He has completed 202 of 331 passes for 2,206 yards and 13 touchdowns, which already exceeds his total from the entire 2012 season.
Making his Fantasy status this week more promising is that the San Diego pass defense has been downright terrible. The Chargers rank 28th in passing yards allowed with 2,516 despite sitting middle of the pack in passes attempted. The result is that they're second-last in the NFL in net yards given up per pass attempt (7.5). Their own prolific pass offense has also led to big numbers for opposing quarterbacks.
Two of the three CBSSports.com senior Fantasy writers rank Tannehill in their top 20 among NFL quarterbacks this week. If you have a better option, go for it. But Tannehill is more of a viable play against San Diego than perhaps he has been all year.
