The Saints aren't expected to activate Lutz (abdomen) from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

For the first time all season, Lutz will be eligible to play this week, but since the Saints haven't even designated him for a return from IR, he looks like he'll need more recovering time. The 27-year-old kicker underwent core-muscle surgery in early August and was given an 8-to-12-week recovery timeline, so it wouldn't be surprising if he missed more games beyond Sunday's. Aldrick Rosas was signed off the practice squad in Lutz's absence and had been performing well before missed two field goals in Sunday's win over the Patriots.
