Top Saints News

  • Saints' Juwan Johnson: Listed as limited Thursday

Johnson (illness) was a limited participant at Thursday's practice.

Johnson took a step in the right direction after sitting out practice entirely Wednesday. He still has a chance to avoid an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Ravens if Johnson can upgrade to full participation Friday. Johnson caught three of seven targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' Week 1 overtime loss at Detroit.

  • Saints' Chris Olave: Exits Thursday's practice as precaution

Olave (hamstring) departed Thursday's practice early as a precaution, but it isn't expected to impact his ability to play, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Olave showed up on the Saints' second Week 2 practice report Thursday with a hamstring injury, which may stem from the cramping that he dealt with Week 1 during a 10-182-0 performance on 13 targets at Detroit. Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game in Baltimore, but his status may not be entirely confirmed until about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: 'Feeling great' ahead of Week 2

Kamara (knee) said Thursday that he "feels great" and has "no limitations" in advance of Sunday's game at Baltimore, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

Kamara made an early exit from an Aug. 18 joint practice with the Cowboys and was diagnosed with an MCL sprain that was expected to sideline him for one month. While he was inactive for the Saints' Week 1 contest in Detroit, he followed up back-to-back limited sessions with a full practice last Friday, indicating that he was closing in on a return to action. With a pair of uncapped practices so far this week, he's in line to join Travis Etienne out of the Saints backfield Sunday, and potentially without any limits on his workload.

  • Saints' Chris Olave: Dealing with hamstring injury

Olave was limited at Thursday's practice due to a hamstring injury, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports..

In the midst of a 10-catch, 182-yard performance on 13 targets during this past Sunday's overtime loss at Detroit, Olave hit the sidelines a few times but never was deemed questionable to return. Afterward, he relayed to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com that he dealt with some calf cramping during the contest, but a few days later, he's now come down with a hamstring issue. As a result, Olave's listing, or lack thereof, on Friday's practice report will be of keen interest ahead of Sunday's game in Baltimore.

  • Saints' Juwan Johnson: Back at practice Thursday

Johnson (illness) returned to practice Thursday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

After missing Wednesday's practice due to an illness, Johnson got back in the mix Thursday. The Saints' injury report will clarify whether he was a limited or full participant. Regardless, this is a good sign for Johnson's availability heading into Sunday's game against the Ravens.

  • Saints' Juwan Johnson: Under the weather

Johnson did not participate in Wednesday's practice due to an illness.

Johnson's absence from Wednesday's practice was likely a precautionary measure, and the veteran tight end will have two more chances to return to practice ahead of the Saints' Week 2 road tilt against the Ravens on Sunday. Johnson had a career year in 2025 and produced a 3-54-1 receiving line (on seven targets) during the Saints' 31-30 overtime loss to the Lions in Week 1. With rookie first-round wideout Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) on injured reserve, Johnson, Chris Olave and Devaughn Vele are likely going to be the go-to targets in the passing game for quarterback Tyler Shough.

  • Saints' Oscar Delp: Opens Week 2 prep with limited practice

Delp (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Delp has been working through a hamstring injury since late August, which prevented him from playing in the Saints' 31-30 overtime loss to the Lions in Week 1. His return to practice, albeit in a limited capacity, is a good sign, and the rookie third-rounder will have two more chances to log a full session and avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's road tilt against the Ravens.

  • Saints' Alvin Kamara: Good to go for Week 2

Kamara (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

New Orleans' backfield will get a boost in Week 2 with Kamara back in the mix after missing the season opener with a knee injury. The veteran injured his knee late in the preseason and returned to practice ahead of Week 1 but was not yet ready to give it a go. His full practice Wednesday points to Kamara being available for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
