Everyone is excited about this year's rookie class, and why not? It features a strong-armed, accurate quarterback picked No. 1 overall, the heir-apparent to LaDainian Tomlinson, a Reggie Bush clone, a receiver deemed worthy enough to wear Michael Irvin's No. 88 and another player who doesn't want to be known as a "RB" or a "WR" but as an "OW" -- offensive weapon.

Figuring out how these rookies will fare in Fantasy drafts this season is the next step. If our research on how rookies have done versus their veteran counterparts is any indication, running backs will be hot commodities, then receivers, then ... well, probably not much so long as your draft isn't more than, say, 17 rounds.

Fellow CBSSports.com Senior Fantasy Writer Jamey Eisenberg and I recently hopped on Twitter and conducted a 48-pick (four-round) rookie-only mock draft. We picked without regard to position or need and drafted the best players available as if we were going to own these players for years to come. That said, the results should be useful to those of you playing in dynasty leagues with rookie-only drafts; the results might be a little bit different if we drafted specifically with 2010 in mind (quarterbacks and tight ends wouldn't be picked as high as they were, for example).
