Wilson (calf) is inactive as the Steelers' emergency No. 3 quarterback for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Wilson was listed as a limited practice participant throughout the week, but since that represented no change in his level of activity from the week prior, the Steelers are electing to hold him out for a third consecutive game to begin the season. Justin Fields will once again start at quarterback for the Steelers, and he could hang on to the job if he's able to guide Pittsburgh to a 3-0 start to the season with another win Sunday. Head coach Mike Tomlin noted earlier in the week that he wouldn't commit to a permanent starter at quarterback until Wilson is fully healthy, however.
