Bowen announced his retirement Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
Bowen's career ends after most recently playing for the Jets, finishing his one year in New York with eight tackles as an off-the-bench player. Bowen spent his first five years in the NFL as a disruptive rotational player in Dallas before earning a three-year stint as a starter in Washington. He had a fine career.
