The Raiders waived Mitchel (undisclosed) with an injury designation Tuesday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic Bay Area reports.
Mitchel was battling for a spot via special teams, but this mystery issue may have held him back. If he clears waivers, he'll revert to the Lions' injured reserve and await an injury settlement.
