Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Monday there was "no timetable" for the team to name a starting quarterback, as Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer battle for the No. 1 spot, per the Houston Chronicle

The pair have been splitting first-team reps during OTAs and neither has emerged enough for O'Brien to make a definitive call. Mallett threw for 400 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions before suffering a torn pectoral muscle, while Hoyer started strong last season with the Browns but faded, finishing with 3,326 yards, 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
