Lenz, who caught three passes for a team-leading 52 yards in Houston's preseason opener, is "in the conversation" for one of the wideout roster spots, according to Houston head coach Bill O'Brien, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
O'Brien was pleased to see the former undrafted free agent make some plays in Sunday's preseason opener. "He's a tough guy. He's doing a lot of good things. He's definitely in the conversation, no question about it. He's a good guy, he's smart, like I said, tough, and made some plays in the game on Sunday." The Iowa State product is entering his fifth NFL season, but has yet to get beyond the practice squad of several teams. The Texans would need to carry six wideouts in order for Lenz to have a serious shot at making the team.
