Blankenship (concussion/hand) underwent surgery on his left hand in October, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The safety went through the procedure "not long after" the Texans' win over the Jaguars, per Alexander. Blankenship is also working his way through the concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the same game. His status will be worth monitoring as the team prepares for a Week 9 matchup with the Chargers.
