The Vikings are signing Gilmore (shoulder) to a one-year, $10 million contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Gilmore met with Minnesota last week, and the visit apparently went well, as the veteran cornerback is now set to join the Vikings' defensive backfield. The 33-year-old should immediately jump into a starting role, which will allow Byron Murphy to move over to his strongest position in the slot. Gilmore started all 17 regular-season games with Dallas year, showing that he still has plenty in the tank by tying his career high with 68 tackles (54 solo) while adding 13 defensed passes, including two interceptions. Gilmore had shoulder surgery in the offseason but appears to be recovered given Minnesota's willingness to ink him to a contract.
