Kaepernick will work out for the Raiders this week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Kaepernick, now 34, last played professional football in 2016, the same year he started kneeling during the national anthem to protest racial injustice. The Raiders, meanwhile, currently have Nick Mullens, Jarrett Stidham and Chase Garbers as their depth quarterbacks behind Derek Carr. Of that group, Mullens is the clear favorite for the backup job, though Kaepernick might represent competition if he looks at all like his old self.

Kaepernick's 40-minute on-field workout Saturday was attended by representatives from eight NFL teams, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports. It remains to be seen if Kaepernick -- who last played in the NFL in 2016 -- will be signed, but the 32-year-old signal caller has made it clear that he would welcome such an outcome. "We're out here. We're ready to play. We're ready to go anywhere," Kaepernick noted Saturday. "My agent, Jeff Nalley, is ready to talk [to] any team. I'll interview with any team at any time. I've been ready."

The NFL announced that at least 11 teams will have representatives on hand for Kaepernick's private workout in Atlanta on Saturday, ESPN.com reports. Former NFL coach Hue Jackson is scheduled to lead Kaepernick's workout in front of representatives from the Cardinals, Falcons, Browns, Broncos, Lions, Dolphins, Patriots, Giants, Jets, Buccaneers and Redskins. The league statement indicated that additional teams may still commit to evaluate Kaepernick's workout, which will also include an interview portion. The 32-year-old quarterback hasn't appeared in the NFL -- or in any professional league -- since 2016.

The NFL will hold a private workout in Atlanta for Kaepernick on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. After reaching a settlement with the league in February regarding a collusion case, the situation surrounding Kaepernick has been nearly silent until Tuesday's development. According to Schefter, all 32 organizations are invited to attend the workout, which will include on-field work and an interview session. Kaepernick hasn't played since Week 17 of the 2016 campaign and turned 32 on Nov. 3, so it's unclear what type of shape he's in. That said, his representatives have said he's been "working out five days a week, for three years, in preparation to play again," and he could garner interest from one of the 16 teams that has been forced to start at least two signal callers this season.

Kaepernick and Panthers safety Eric Reid have resolved their pending grievances with the NFL, subject to a confidentiality agreement. Kaepernick and Reid presumably will receive financial settlements for undisclosed amounts, thus ending their lengthy legal battle in a collusion case against the league. The latter recently inked a three-year deal with the Panthers, while the former hasn't been signed since he opted out of his contract with the 49ers in March 2017. This could pave the way for the 31-year-old quarterback to resume his football career, though he'll still have a hard time finding a contract that accurately reflects his on-field value. It doesn't help that Kaepernick hasn't played in a game since Week 17 of the 2016 season.
