  • Glennon was elevated to the Dolphins' active roster Saturday. At least for the moment, it appears as if rookie Skylar Thompson will get the start Sunday against the Jets, with Glennon possibly set to act as a backup with Teddy Bridgewater's (finger/knee) status still up in the air. Expect more clarification from the Dolphins prior to the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Miami is signing Glennon to the practice squad Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Glennon is inking with the Dolphins while Tua Tagovailoa remains in the concussion protocol and Teddy Bridgewater (finger) deals with a dislocated pinkie finger on his right hand. Coach Mike McDaniel suggested Tagovailoa will remain sidelined Week 18 versus the Jets, meaning if Bridgewater isn't available it would fall to rookie seventh-round pick Skylar Thompson to helm Miami's offense. In that scenario, Glennon could be tasked with handling backup duties.

  • Glennon completed four of 11 passes for 24 yards and two interceptions in Sunday's 29-3 loss to Chicago. He added 13 yards on one rushing attempt and fumbled four times, losing two. Glennon struggled mightily for the banged-up Giants, and the team primarily kept the ball on the ground in the blowout loss. Even if Glennon is given the starting nod in Week 18 against Washington, his 4:10 TD:INT this season suggests it's best to avoid him in fantasy.

  • The Giants are planning to have Glennon start Sunday's game against the Bears, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. New York re-evaluated its quarterback situation for the second week in a row after Jake Fromm stepped in for his first career start last Sunday in place of the struggling Glennon, who went 0-3 while completing only 51 percent of his throws for 4.6 yards per attempt and 2:5 TD:INT during his three-game run after taking over for the injured Daniel Jones (neck). Though Fromm is nearly a decade younger than Glennon and offers more developmental upside, the 23-year-old did little to demonstrate he was an NFL-caliber quarterback in last week's loss to the Eagles, completing only six of 17 attempts for 25 yards and an interception before he was benched midway through the third quarter. Glennon took over thereafter and wasn't much better, completing 17 of 27 throws for 93 yards, a touchdown and an interception. That outing coupled with how he performed in practice this week looks like it'll be enough for Glennon to get another turn as the starter, with Raanan noting that the Giants don't intend to use him as part of a timeshare with Fromm. Even so, Glennon's prior production suggests he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a low-end lineup option in leagues that start two quarterbacks or have a superflex spot.

  • Glennon and Jake Fromm are both expected to receive playing time at quarterback in Sunday's game against the Bears, Darryl Slater of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. Benched after a three-game run as the Giants' starting signal-caller Glennon came off the bench in the second half of the team's Week 16 loss to the Eagles in relief of a struggling Fromm, finishing with 17 completions for 93 yards, a touchdown and an interception over 27 attempts. Although the veteran was slightly more effective than Fromm, his 3.4 YPA was still woeful. Head coach Joe Judge said Wednesday that he'll determine the starting quarterback for Week 17 based on the performances of the two in practices, but both Fromm and Glennon look on track to take some reps Sunday.
