  • Will Compton: Announces retirement

    Compton announced his retirement via his personal Twitter feed Sunday. Compton last suited up with the Raiders in 2021 and spent the second half of the 2022 campaign on the Falcons' practice squad. However, the 33-year-old will elect to call it a career after spending nine years in the NFL. He totaled 358 tackles (210 solo), including a sack, three interceptions, four fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and 12 pass defenses.

  • Raiders' Will Compton: Out Sunday

    Compton (personal) will not play Sunday against the Broncos. Compton will miss his second straight game due to personal reasons. With Denzel Perryman (ankle) returning, Compton would have played a depth role in the Raiders' linebacker unit. Instead, Divine Deablo and Patrick Onwuasor will likely take on any extra work.

    Compton was released by the Titans on Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Compton appeared in five games this season and had six total tackles while mostly playing special teams. The 31-year-old likely will fill a similar role if he's able to latch on elsewhere.

  • Titans' Will Compton: Signed by Titans

    Compton was signed by the Titans on Thursday, NFL.com reports. Compton heads back to Tennessee, where he played in 12 games during the 2018 season. The 30-year-old linebacker is coming off a season with the Raiders in which he played nine games after being signed at the end of October, recording 41 tackles (26 solo) in the process. He will add a veteran presence to the Titans' linebacker room and will also be reunited with fellow podcast host Taylor Lewan.

  • Compton racked up nine tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Jaguars. Compton had played no more than 20 defensive snaps in a single contest since joining the Raiders in Week 9, but he was dealt a full workload Sunday while leading the team in tackles along the way. Given his solid performance, Compton figures to start at middle linebacker once again in Week 16 against the Chargers.
