  • Zeitler (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's NFC divisional-round clash against the Commanders, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports. Zeitler injured his right hamstring in the fourth quarter of the Lions' Week 18 win over the Vikings. Even with the Lions' first-round playoff bye, Zeitler wasn't able to progress enough in his recovery to participate in practice this week. Christian Mahogany and Kayode Awosika are the presumed top candidates to start at right guard Saturday due to Zeitler's absence.

  • Zeitler suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday night's 31-9 win over the Vikings. Zeitler pulled up lame on Detroit's final possession of the game, ultimately exiting the contest in the fourth quarter with a right hamstring injury. The offensive lineman will look to rest and recover in time to play in the Lions' next contest in two weeks for a matchup in the NFC divisional round. If Zeitler is unable to go, Christian Mahogany would be a top candidate to draw a start at offensive guard in the playoffs.

Zeitler (shoulder) returned to practice Sunday, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports. Zeitler hurt his shoulder during practice in early August and didn't play at all during the preseason, but he now appears to be back to health. As such, he should be ready to suit up and start at right guard for Detroit in Week 1 of the regular season versus the Rams.

  • Lions' Kevin Zeitler: Inks new deal
    By RotoWire

Zeitler will sign a one-year deal with the Lions on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Zeitler made the Pro Bowl in 2023 with the Ravens and will replace Jonah Jackson at guard on Detroit's offensive line. The Lions boasted one of the top offensive lines in the NFL last season, and the addition of the Wisconsin product should allow them to do so again in 2024.
