• Buccaneers' Kevin Minter: Lands on COVID list

  The Buccaneers placed Minter on the reserve/COVID 19 list Monday, Scott Smith of the team's official website reports. Minter will not count against the Bucs' 53-man roster while he is sidelined. To go along with his special-teams contributions, he is the primary reserve behind starting linebackers Lavonte David and Devin White. If he ultimately misses Week 3, look for K.J. Britt to serve as the primary depth at inside linebacker.

  Minter was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Minter either tested positive for the virus or came into close contact with an infected person. If he's merely a close contact, Minter will be available for Sunday's playoff matchup against the Saints as long as he continues to test negative. Minter's role will drop off significantly regardless, as Devin White will return to this lineup this week.

  Minter totaled nine tackles (five solo), including two for loss, and one pass defensed in the Buccaneers' 55-40 win over the Rams on Sunday. Minter drew a second consecutive start for Devin White (knee) and excelled, co-leading the team in tackles and equaling a season high in the process. The veteran LSU product doesn't slot in as a starter when White is healthy, so despite his strong production on the first-team defense against the Rams, Minter doesn't quite carry the IDP value over the long term that his Week 4 numbers would imply.

  Minter (calf) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports. Minter suffered a calf injury during Sunday's 28-14 loss to the Saints. With the depth linebacker now sidelined, Cameron Lynch and Riley Bullough could be in line for increased offensive snaps. Tight end Tanner Hudson takes Minter's spot on the 53-man roster.

  Minter (elbow) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Minter's missed the past four games with an elbow injury, so his full participation Wednesday is a significant development. He seems in line to play Sunday against the Browns and take back a starting role at middle linebacker.
