Kansas City signed Shelton on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The Chiefs will be Shelton's fourth team in as many years. As the gap-filling defensive tackle enters his eighth season in the league, he'll compete with Derrick Nnadi and Tershawn Wharton for a starting spot next to three-time Pro-Bowler Chris Jones on Kansas City's front four.

Shelton left Sunday's game early against the Rams with a pectoral inury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Shelton left late in the game, so his absence creates little impact for now. He is the primary man behind Austin Johnson in the Giants' 3-4 defense, though, so any extended time missed would certainly leave the depth chart thin. Shelton will try to return in Week 7 against the Panthers.

Shelton (triceps) will not return to Sunday's game against the Vikings, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports. Shelton had one solo tackle before being forced out of Sunday's regular-season finale. Through 11 appearances in 2020, Shelton notched 37 tackles (15 solo), one sack and one defended pass.

Shelton (knee) is questionable to return to the Lions' Week 12 matchup against the Texans, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.comreports. Shelton suffered a right knee injury early in the second quarter. He immediately headed to the locker room for further evaluation and it is unclear if he will be able to return. John Penisini should see an uptick is snaps in Shelton's absence.

Shelton (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles. Shelton practiced in a limited capacity all week, but he's been cleared for action. The 2015 first-round pick has started at nose tackle this year, and he figures to continue this role. Shelton has 31 tackles and two sacks through nine contests.
