The Ravens signed Boyle to their practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Boyle was a healthy scratch in back-to-back games before being waived by the Ravens on Saturday. While he hasn't been a major factor in Baltimore's offense recently, his veteran leadership and blocking prowess are certainly strong qualities for a practice-squad tight end.

Boyle was waived by the Ravens on Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Boyle was a healthy scratch for the first two games of the season but otherwise played a depth role among Baltimore's tight end corps throughout the 2022 campaign. He did not see a target and was used primarily as a blocker.

The backup tight end has played primarily on special teams this year and hasn't recorded any offensive stats.

With Boyle unavailable Sunday, rookie tight end Charlie Kolar is slated to make his regular season debut for the Steelers. Boyle's next chance to suit up will arrive in Week 18 against the Bengals.

Boyle was unable to practice Thursday and Friday due to the ailment, leaving his availability for Week 17 up in the air. The 29-year-old typically plays just a handful of offensive snaps each week, so his availability shouldn't affect Baltimore's game plan.
