  • Stephon Tuitt: Retires from NFL

    Tuitt announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday. After missing the entire 2021 campaign while recovering from an injury, Tuitt decided to call it quits after eight seasons in the NFL. The 29-year-old finishes his career with 246 tackles including 34.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, an interception and 13 pass deflections over 91 games.

  • Tuitt was placed on injured reserve for an undisclosed reason Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Tuitt racked up a career-high 11 sacks across 15 appearances during the 2020 campaign, but he'll be sidelined for at least the first three weeks of the season in 2021. The specifics of the 28-year-old's injury haven't yet been revealed, but Henry Mondeaux and Isaiahh Loudermilk could see a slight uptick in playing time in his absence.

  • Steelers' Stephon Tuitt: Good to go Week 16

The 27-year-old sat out the first two practices of the week due to the back issue, but he was able to practice with no limitations Friday to avoid the questionable tag. Tuitt has a career-high nine sacks in 13 games this season.

  • Tuitt recorded a sack, a forced fumble and one defensed pass in Sunday's 27-3 win over the Jaguars. Tuitt was the first of two Steelers to bring down Jake Luton in Sunday's win, and he forced a fumble on the play that was recovered by Jacksonville. The 27-year-old has now set his career-high sack total over the first 10 games of 2020.
