Indianapolis released Perkins on Monday. Perkins spent the latter portion of the 2020 season on Indianapolis' practice squad, but he hasn't suited up for a regular-season game since 2019 with the Lions. Heading into his age-27 season, Perkins now stands to search for a reserve role elsewhere.

Toward the end of the 2020 campaign, Perkins spent time with the Colts' practice squad and now has a future contract with the team. The 26-year-old didn't suit up for a game this year and will likely serve as a depth option in the backfield in the upcoming season.

Perkins bounced around practice squads last season and also logged 29 yards on 12 rushing attempt in four games with the Lions. Perkins will add a veteran presence and depth to the organization, as the team is currently set with Jonathan Taylor, Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines at running back.

Perkins has bounced around this year, making stops with the Giants, Lions and Jaguars, but he only suited up in four games with the Lions. He'll add necessary depth to the Ravens' backfield since Mark Ingram is working through a nagging calf injury.

Perkins appeared in four games with the Lions earlier this season, racking up 29 yards on 12 carries while catching his only target for nine yards. He'll wait in the wings for a depth opportunity to open up in Jacksonville's backfield.
