The Bengals worked out Philon on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Philon underwent offseason surgery to address a knee injury that he sustained during the 2021 campaign, and his workout in Cincinnati on Tuesday implies that he's healthy and ready for NFL action once again. The 28-year-old defensive lineman collected 27 tackles, two sacks, two passes defensed and two fumble recoveries across 11 games played for the Raiders last season, and he'll now work for another opportunity to log snaps on an active roster.

Philon suffered a significant knee injury in the Raiders' Week 18 victory over the Chargers, finishing the contest with four tackles and a pass deflection. With the defensive tackle out of action, the Raiders may turn to the likes of Solomon Thomas and Kendal Vickers for increased snaps.

Philon (ankle) isn't expected to practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports. Reed reports that Philon picked up the ankle injury during the Raiders' Week 9 loss to the Giants. The 27-year-old defensive tackle played 20 defensive snaps and recovered a fumble during the loss, but his status for Week 10 is in jeopardy.

Philon is signing a two-year, $10 million contract with the Cardinals, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports. Philon will get $5 million guaranteed and his contract can max out at $12 million with incentives. The Arkansas product appeared in all 32 regular-season games for the Chargers the past two seasons (making 13 starts in 2018) and racked up 64 tackles and 8.5 sacks along the way. Now with the Cardinals, Philon will likely slot in as a starter alongside fellow defensive end Robert Nkemdiche and nose tackle Corey Peters.

Philon recorded five tackles (three solo), including 1.5 sacks, and forced a fumble in Saturday's loss to Baltimore. Philon had an impressive outing Sunday, tying his season high in tackles and setting a season high in sacks. The third-year defender has 32 tackles (19 solo), including four sacks, through 15 games this season.
