  Heath was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday after testing positive for the virus, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Heath has primarily played special teams for New Orleans this season, and he'll now be unavailable until he clears the health and safety protocols.

  Heath signed a deal to join the Saints' active roster Tuesday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Heath was active for the Saints' Week 1 contest against the Packers but would have reverted back to the practice squad had he not been signed to the active roster. He played primarily on special teams in the opening contest, though he also earned nine defensive snaps and recorded two total tackles.

• Jeff Heath: Released by New Orleans

  Heath was released by the Saints on Friday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Hill was initially included on the Saints' 53-man roster, but he'll be let go ahead of the season opener. The 30-year-old appeared in 13 games with the Raiders last year and totaled 37 tackles (28 solo) and three interceptions.

• Raiders' Jeff Heath: Stacks up 10 stops

  Heath produced 10 tackles (nine solo) in Sunday's 43-6 loss to the Falcons. Heath started at free safety over Erik Harris, who ended up playing just four snaps on defense. It's unclear if this will become the norm for Las Vegas. However, it certainly worked out well for Health, who generated a season high in tackles after recording just 17 stops through the first 10 games.

• Raiders' Jeff Heath: Considered questionable

  Heath (hip) is considered questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Chargers, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. After not practicing earlier in the week, Heath logged a limited workload at Friday's practice. He seems to be trending toward a true game-time decision. Dallin Leavitt could see some extra snaps providing depth at safety if Heath is ultimately unable to go.
