Burns signed with the Seahawks' practice squad Wednesday. Burns was dropped by Seattle on Tuesday after being activated off injured reserve Saturday, but it now appears he'll remain with the Seahawks after joining their practice squad Wednesday. The veteran corner seems to be past his toe injury and could be elevated to the active roster if the team faces injuries in the secondary later this season.

Burns landed on IR in mid-October due to a toe injury. The Seahawks opened his practice window Wednesday, and Burns was able to participate in full at practice throughout the week, but he probably won't play Sunday as he works to get back up to speed. Burns has played in only one game this season, logging one tackle and two pass defenses Week 6 against San Francisco.

Burns suffered a foot injury in Thursday's Week 6 game against San Francisco and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports. Burns was hurt during the second half and was ruled out in the fourth quarter. The 29-year-old was playing in his first game of the campaign Thursday. Burns logged one tackle and two pass defenses prior to his exit.

Burns (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Broncos. Burns was promoted from the practice squad Saturday but ultimately will stay on the sidelines Week 1. The 29-year-old will likely revert to the practice squad, but he may find himself with the opportunity to suit up Week 2 against the Patriots.
