Ford (undisclosed) was released from the Bears' injured reserve with a settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Ford appeared in Chicago's preseason finale but seemingly suffered an injury at some point afterward. The 27-year-old has not appeared in a regular-season game since 2021 but will look to get healthy and return to the field now that he's eligible to sign with another team.

The Bears placed Ford on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury Tuesday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports. Ford appeared in the Bears' preseason finale against the Bills on Saturday but is apparently dealing with an injury afterward. Unless he's waived by Chicago with an injury settlement, he'll be forced to miss the 2023 campaign.

Ford will join the Bears after spending the 2022 season as a free agent, last appearing in an NFL game two year ago. In 2021, the wide receiver caught 12 passes for 161 yards and two scores over 13 games with the Dolphins. Ford will likely be vying for a practice squad spot with Chicago ahead of the 2023 campaign.

The Colts released Ford on Tuesday, per independent NFL reporter Dov Kleiman. Ford spent four years in Miami before signing a one-year deal with the Colts this offseason. However, the 2017 seventh-round pick is among the first wave of cuts ahead of Tuesday's 85-man roster deadline. Ford has totaled 63 receptions for 681 yards and two touchdowns across 22 career appearances.

The 2017 seventh-rounder will face an uphill battle for a roster spot in his new locale as he joins a crowded group of wide receivers headed by Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce and Parris Campbell, with Ashton Dulin, Dezmon Patmon, Mike Strachan, Keke Coutee and DeMichael Harris also in the mix at the position.
